PTA Event Reports

Thanks to all who have supported us over the last year and we look forward to meeting anyone who would like to get involved, give a small amount of their time each month and support the school going forward. A special welcome to any new parents from this year’s new intake.  We need new parents to join us and keep the association going and help raise as much as we can for the school for the coming year. Come along and see what you can offer, we’re always open to new fund-raising ideas and you don’t need to commit to every month.

So far this year we have seen the continued success of our cake sale Fridays, allowing some years to purchase small equipment for the classrooms and others to finance topic themed fun days or to provide transport for the year group to attend educational visits.

Most recent news!

Autumn/Winter term

Beaudesert inaugural car boot sale took place end of September, with 19 pitches sold and no rain, the school raised just over £150. Thanks to all who supported us and we are looking into more regular sales next year. We also had our first bingo night early Oct. The event again was well supported, we saw some new faces, along with some older professionals! A good night was had by all and we raised just over £300!

We have recently attended the Leighton Buzzard Carnival presentation evening and collected  a cheque from the money raised last year and will be using this to go towards the costs of re-furbishing the nuture room for children who need additional learning or emotional support.

The PTA arranged a Bags2school collection middle of Oct where 40 bags of clothing and unwanted items were donated. Total amount raised is still to be confirmed.

Our Friday cake sales have started with gusto again and the first week over £70 was raised, these will continue fortnightly in run up to Xmas.

We recently agreed to contribute £1,895 to a school purchase of fifteen i-pads. A great use of the money we raised last year. We have also part funded the minibus transport for weekly swimming lessons again for year 4 children and this will be extended to year 3 as well in the new year.

For 2018 we are looking at part- funding with a grant from Friends of the Earth the development of a garden space that will mean the school will be awarded eco-friendly status, and we are contributing towards a live science project for the whole school where butterflies, worms, stick insects and even baby chicks will grow and hatch on site!

Over the last few years we have had a number of repeat fund raisers that have continued to be successful. For example, Christmas card designs, donation collecting with the Rotary Club Santa float and our Christmas Fayre are usually our highest earners proving that we need  to continue with these events more than ever.

Our annual Christmas Fayre is busy being planned by our elves and will be on Friday 1st December from 3pm until 5pm. Come along and join in the fun!
