Ofsted Inspection – January 2015
Ofsted carried out an inspection of the school on 15th & 16th January 2015. Their report on this inspection has now been published and we’re delighted to report that the inspectors have graded the school as GOOD. They found many positive things about the school, including:
• Pupils’ achievement and the quality of teaching are now good and the school is continuing to improve.
• Standards have been rising over time; they were above average in reading, writing and mathematics in 2014 by the end of Year 2.
• Pupils’ attainment is above what is expected for their age in Years 3 and 4 because of their good progress.
Elaine Cox, headteacher, said: “I’m immensely proud of what the teaching staff and our pupils have achieved over the last two years. I’m glad that Ofsted have also recognised this with the positive things they have said about us in their report. We are continuing to work to improve standards as well as introducing new initiatives such as the new curriculum this year. Ofsted have pointed out some areas that we can focus on to get to “outstanding”, and we’ll be updating our school improvement plan to address these areas. Getting to GOOD has been the first stage in our recovery plan, but we won’t rest until we are recognised for our outstanding characteristics.”
As part of the inspection, parents & carers were asked to fill in the Ofsted “ParentView” on-line questionnaire. You can view the results by <CLICKING HERE>.
