It’s still not too late! After a number of very successful years we are in desperate need for some new parents to start to get involved, as all the parents who currently hold the key association positions will be stepping down at the end of the next academic year. It would be a real shame if all the experience of the last 5-6 years was not passed onto the next generation of new parents over the coming 12 months. The PTA is a great way to get involved with making your child’s school experience more fulfilled. We support the school on so many things. Any help is always gratefully received whether it is making teas and coffees, helping to lay out chairs or just giving fresh ideas or you can pop along to a meeting. Please look at the PTA noticeboard to see when the next meeting will be held.
Who we are and what we do?
We’re a group of parent and staff volunteers who give their time to create better learning experiences for our children. Our fund raising generates much-needed income to support school budgets that will improve both the school and the links with the teachers to give all parents a say in their child’s education and development. We are always looking for new ideas and any parents who have skills or contacts that we can utilise!
Why not get involved?
Don’t be put off if you if you feel you can’t give your time, haven’t been asked or are unsure what’s involved….
· Anytime you can give is welcome.
· Having a child at this school means you can join us.
· Being involved is a great way to get to know the school and other parents.
DID YOU KNOW?
Throughout last year the PTA raised £7,000, our best fund-raising year yet!
The monies raised will be well spent and some of the projects included….
· Coach transport for swimming lessons for year 4. Year 3 will be starting their lessons next year
· Xmas panto paid for the whole school taking place in Jan 2019
· Development and funding of an Eco Garden area to benefit the whole school
· Forensic Science day and Meet the Author
· Refurbishment of early years nurture room
· Year 4 leavers hoodies
Our key events were again very successful with some new recent fund-raising ideas of bingo night and car boot sale too…
Summer Fair, Xmas Fayre, Movie Nights, Fashion Show, Sponsored Bounce, Non Uniform Days, Graduation Disco, Weekly ice cream and cake sales, Rotary Club Xmas Santa float. We made just over £1,100 profit at the Summer Fair, almost £1,200 on the bounce and just over £1,000 at our Christmas Fayre!
We will also be fully supporting the school again by entering the Leighton Linslade Carnival to defend our title from last year! Watch this space.
